What an opportunity we have in 2010. As we went through the scripture in worship yesterday, I was even more convinced that we have missed some golden opportunities to grow to know Christ more deeply and intimately. Look at the life of Paul in the book of Philippians. In chapter 3, Paul tells us that he had lost it ALL for the sake of Christ. Last night as we moved forward in our study of Revelation, I was moved and compelled by the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:8 where he said, "In the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness which the Lord the righteous judge will award to me on that day and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing." Paul was in his final days of life when he reminded Timothy that as Christians, one of the things that marks our Christian lives is the fact that we should be longing to see Jesus. Wow!! CHRISTmas is almost here. Seems like just yesterday we were setting up for a block party and the great summer events. This is a time of year that it's so easy to lose focus. I hope that you will spend some quality time this year just to focus on the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Had it not been for this one birthday, we would be lost and hopeless in this old world.
