So back to the Swaziland adventure... After a long journey to Swaziland, let the "work" begin. After a night listening to the crickets chirp, we were up and at a local business owners prayer meeting in the hotel at 6am. We were able to meet the Mayor, a counselor, and a local doctor from Good Shepherd Hospital located in Siteki. As our day unfolded, we would split up as a team and head out in two directions. Bert, Ron and Janice headed to Bert's to pick up some equipment for the revivial services while Pastor Sigwane and I headed up to the site we would be holding our services at. Our goal was start setting up the tents before the rest of the team arrived. Once we arrived, we found that the field wasn't ready for the tents so we headed out on a long drive down a windy cow path to find someone to mow down the field. After a long journey, we arrived to find a New Holland tractor that was ready to mow the field down for us. Continue Reading
Wow! The adventure begins. So we loaded up here in Oak City and the adventure began on Tuesday morning around 9am. We took time to catch a quick lunch on the way up to Dulles to fly to the great unknown challenge and whatever God would have in store for us. As we drove, I can remember praying and asking God to let the rains come. Here was a trio of people that most would consider an odd trio of people coming together to serve the Lord. A "small" church pastor, a man living life from a wheelchair and a 78 year old woman on their way to a country almost 7000 miles from home to see what they could do to serve the Lord.
